Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) FT/PT - West Allis, WI

Who We Need:
We are seeking a Full-time or Part-Time Certified Veterinary Technician who, like us, is moved by serving underserved people and their pets. This person would share our commitment to making high-quality spay/neuter services affordable and accessible to all pet owners. This position requires weekday availability of at least two-three days per week until 5:30pm. You may be our ideal candidate if you enjoy a fast-pace and being part of a strong, positive team.

Position Summary
Job Responsibilities

-Surgical prep of patients while ensuring safety and sterility
-Anesthetize patients, monitor under anesthesia and provide post-operative care
-Calculate drug dosages; handle and track controlled substances Clean and maintain equipment, surgical quarters and animal areas as needed
-Ensure prompt and accurate paperwork procedures are followed
-Effectively communicate in a friendly and professional manner with co-workers and the public
-Provide excellent customer service

Qualifications & Requirements

-Veterinary Technician Certification achieved and maintained
-Veterinary Technician certification required
-Experience in a veterinary clinic and/or animal shelter or control facility preferred
-Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs repeatedly throughout the day
-Candidates must be committed to treating animals with kindness and respect

Signing Bonus

WHS is currently offering a signing bonus of up to $1,000. Eligible hires can earn $500 after 90 days of employment and additional $500 after 6 months for a total of $1,000!

Compensation & Benefits: WHS offers full-time CVTs a very competitive starting salary of $16.00/hour and provides financial support for continuing education and license renewal. Full-time staff are eligible for up to 2 weeks of Vacation, 1 week Paid Time Off, and 6 paid Holidays after 45 days of employment as well as the following benefits on the first of the month following 60 days of consecutive employment after their full-time hire date:
