The Wisconsin Humane Society Spay/Neuter Clinic is a fast-paced, high-quality, high-volume clinic dedicated to making spay/neuter services affordable and accessible to all pet owners. Our team of veterinarians and support staff are committed, passionate and fun.
The schedule for this position is first-shift and requires weekday availability until 530pm. WHS offers a competitive starting wage of $17/hour, financial support for continuing education and license renewal, plus were currently offering a signing bonus!
Position Summary
Job Responsibilities
-Surgical prep of patients and post-operative care
-Anesthetize, intubate, and extubate patients
-Monitor vitals under anesthesia and trouble-shoot anesthetic equipment as needed
-Calculate drug dosages; handle and track controlled substances
-Clean and maintain equipment, surgical quarters and animal areas as needed
-Ensure prompt and accurate paperwork procedures are followed
-Effectively communicate in a friendly and professional manner with co-workers and the public
-Provide excellent customer service
Qualifications & Requirements
-Veterinary Technician certification required
-Experience in a veterinary clinic and/or animal shelter or control facility preferred
-Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs repeatedly throughout the day
-Candidates must be committed to treating animals with kindness and respect
-Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply
Benefits/Compensation
Signing Bonus
WHS is currently offering a signing bonus of up to $1,000. Eligible hires can earn $500 after 90 days of employment and additional $500 after 6 months for a total of $1,000!
Compensation & Benefits: WHS offers full-time CVTs a very competitive starting salary of $17.00/hour and provides financial support for continuing education and license renewal. Full-time staff are eligible for up to 2 weeks of Vacation, 1 week Paid Time Off, and 6 paid Holidays after 45 days of employment as well as the following benefits on the first of the month following 60 days of consecutive employment after their full-time hire date:
